Greetings and Welcome to the Columbus Georgia Section of NCNW!
In 1935 Mary McLeod Bethune visualized the tremendous potential for impacting change when African American (in those days Negro) women who were already organized, came together, worked together, and supported each other. This vision led to the formation of the National Council of Negro Women (NCNW). Women (and male associates) from all walks of life and economic strata are welcomed, active, and provide leadership in NCNW.
Throughout the nation NCNW strives to provide innovative and meaningful programs to their communities and we are no different. Our focus is to Be KIND (Knowledgeable Innovative Necessary and Determined). NCNWColGa is working to change the atmosphere our community by demonstrating kindness in our interactions with each other, in our community and in our work. We invite you to join us and bring your expertise and ideas to make our community a safe place of opportunity and justice. Our membership is affordable, and requirements are simple—a desire to work with us to help make our area better by being KIND.
