NCNW-ColGa committees are the backbone of the section. Their responsibility is to make sure African-American sisters in our community have the resources they need to improve their economic stability, health, and professional careers. Each program the Section offers must translate seamlessly to the mission of our national organization. This is why we need champions.
Bylaws Team
Review the Section Bylaws periodically and update as necessary, reports to the body for final approval.
Finance Team
Prepares the budget for each committee; reports the debits and credits for the Section.
Membership Team
Facilitates retaining, recruiting, and reclaiming members; is chaired by the 2nd Vice President.
Nominating Team
Proposes a slate of nominees for election the following year; is composed of five (5) members elected by ballot at the annual meeting in May.
Program/ Community Outreach Team
Plans and coordinates the Section’s programs; is chaired by the 1st Vice President. The Community Outreach Team is a subgroup under Programs that specifically targets service projects within our local area.
Fundraising Team
Shall Ascertain from the Finance Committee the financial needs of the Section for the current year; Propose fund raising activities for the purpose of meeting the financial needs of the Section. Each year, is responsible for planning at least two (2) activities.
Young Adult Team
Provides community service opportunities and life-skill enhancing activities to young ladies of color ages 12 to 18; is chaired by the 3rd Vice President
Communication/Website/Social Media Team
Develops and maintains official section member mailings list, email distribution and all resource lists. Serve as support to website developers to ensure website and social media postings.
Education Team
Monitors and keeps the membership informed of educational issues which affect the Black community; Supports students/schools/organizations in approved educational matters; promotes programs with a special focus on science, technology, engineering, and math.
Health & Fitness
Receives oversight from the 1 st Vice President. Coordinates the Section’s health and wellness initiatives in collaboration with the Program Committee. Responsible for planning at least one (1) annual community activity, to be held in the spring of each fiscal year, for the benefit of the communities the Section serves.
